Readers are Leaders
September 20th, 2009 by Julie Payne in Uncategorized · No Comments
I am so amazed at the amount of reading going on at LMS! We have a 6th grader with over 100 points already!!!! We have classes that have collectively read over a million words already! Litchfield Eagles, you WOW me!! All I can say is GO AHEAD!!!!!
The other day I was eating lunch when the most beautiful sight came into view. I saw students READING in the lunch line!! They were not involved in shinanigans, they were reading. Remember that I told you the best way to stay out of trouble is to read every spare minute! Readers are Leaders!
CONGRATULATIONS!

Congrats to Kiari Kinnie for answering the trivia question! She won a Microsoft insulated mug. Check back for the new question coming SOON!
I am so proud of those who are reading and taking quizzes! Remember, cheating is only hurting YOU! Don’t do it! Discourage others from doing that as well. Cheaters never win in the long run!
Remember the former student I used as an example. She learned how to def eat “messy” people and home referrals by reading when she finished her work, by reading in the lunch line, by reading after she ate her lunch. The more you read, the smarter you are! NO ONE can hold you down when you read! You are building vocabulary, which is the KEY to intelligence.
I will be posting pictures of students caught READING soon!!!

2. A fine of $.10 per day is assessed for each day the book is late.
3. Lost book fees must be paid ($10) in order to check out another book.
Your challenge is to get 15 points for the first nine weeks to qualify for a field trip to the Teen Zone at the Gadsden Public Library! Pizza! Drinks! Cookies! Wii! Games! Computers! FUN!!!!!
